Armenian Diplomacy in Action: Meetings with US Envoy in India and UK Ambassador

The US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, held a series of diplomatic and business meetings on Monday. As part of his agenda, he met with the Ambassador of Armenia to India, Vahagn Afyan, aiming to strengthen bilateral ties and explore new avenues for cooperation.

Diplomatic Discussions in India

Reflecting on the meeting, the US envoy shared a positive update.

"Productive conversation with Armenian Ambassador Vahagn Afyan on strengthening our bilateral relations," Gor posted on the X platform, as reported by the ANI news agency.

In addition to his meeting with the Armenian envoy, Gor held talks with Vivek Lall, representative of General Atomics Global, and Jennifer Rumsey, CEO of Cummins. Looking ahead, the Ambassador is scheduled to deliver a speech on August 18 at the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce's 2026 National Conference, which will be held under the theme,

"Redefining the India-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership."

Meetings with the UK Ambassador

Meanwhile, domestic political actors in Armenia are also actively engaging with foreign diplomats. According to the ArmInfo agency, Anna Grigoryan, head of the opposition "Armenia" faction in the National Assembly, met with Alexandra Cole, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Armenia. According to the press service of the Armenian parliament, both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining cooperation with the British side across various formats.

During the meeting, Grigoryan shared her perspective on the country's post-election processes, recent domestic political developments, and the dynamic between the ruling party and the opposition within the newly elected parliament.
