US Congressman Abraham Hamadeh Visits Armenia to Discuss Strategic Partnership and Tech Initiatives

A US delegation led by Representative Abraham Hamadeh has arrived in Armenia. On August 18, the American delegation held significant meetings with Armenian state officials. Their official visit will conclude on August 21.

Meeting with Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan

Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan welcomed Abraham Hamadeh, a Republican Congressman representing Arizona's 8th congressional district and a member of the US House Armed Services Committee. Hamadeh has been serving in this role since January 2025.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the historic importance of the Washington Peace Summit held on August 8, 2025, in the ongoing efforts to establish lasting peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The discussion also focused on expanding the Armenia-US strategic partnership. In this context, they highlighted the planned establishment of a data center by the tech company "Firebird AI" in Armenia as a key mutually beneficial initiative.

Discussions at the National Assembly

Arrangements for hosting the American delegation at the parliament were coordinated by Ruben Rubinyan, a senior member of the National Assembly. According to official sources, the delegation was received by Ruben Rubinyan alongside Sargis Khandanyan, a candidate for the chairmanship of the parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Relations.

The parliamentary discussions centered on deepening inter-parliamentary cooperation between Armenia and the United States. Both parties stressed the critical need to unblock all regional transport routes in the South Caucasus. This includes the implementation of the international "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) project. The officials also addressed pressing humanitarian concerns and broader regional developments.
