Armenia and India Deepen Military Ties: Armed Forces Exchange New Cooperation Framework

Lieutenant General Edward Asryan, who also serves as Armenia's First Deputy Minister of Defense, hosted India's Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh on Monday during the latter's official visit to the country.

Establishing a New Military Framework

During the meeting, the officials discussed key issues on the defense cooperation agenda between the two nations. Following a previously reached agreement, Asryan and Singh exchanged a formal document establishing a new format for interaction between the General Staffs of the Armenian and Indian Armed Forces, signaling a closer strategic partnership.

High-Level Meetings at the Ministry of Defense

Before his negotiations with the Chief of the General Staff, the Indian Defence Secretary held talks earlier on Monday with Suren Papikyan, Armenia's Minister of Defense. The high-level Indian delegation arrived in Armenia on Sunday to reinforce the growing defense relationship between New Delhi and Yerevan.
