Lusine Badalyan Nominated to Head Armenia's Healthcare Committee

Arusyak Manavazyan, representing the ruling party's parliamentary faction, announced the nomination, while MP Taron Chakhoyan formally introduced the candidate to the National Assembly. In her address, Lusine Badalyan thanked her colleagues for their trust and highlighted the critical role of healthcare in the country's development.

The Strategic Importance of Healthcare

During her speech, the candidate emphasized that advancing the healthcare sector directly leads to a decrease in disease and disability rates, thereby easing the social burden on the state.

"Quality and accessible healthcare means a healthy society, healthy youth, and a strong army," Badalyan stated, as quoted by Armenpress.

Biographical Background

Lusine Badalyan holds qualifications as both an art historian and a healthcare manager. Her professional and educational background includes the following milestones:

• In 2003, she graduated from Yerevan State University, earning a Master's degree in the Theory and History of Armenian Art.
• From 1997 to 2019, she worked extensively in media, including Public Radio of Armenia and Public Television.
• From 2019 to 2021, she served as a Member of Parliament representing the "My Step" alliance.
• Since 2021, she has been an MP from the ruling Civil Contract faction, with her current mandate running until 2026.
• In 2022, she earned a Master's degree in Healthcare Facility Management from the Mkhitar Heratsi Yerevan State Medical University.

Prior to this nomination, Badalyan served as the Deputy Chair of the same healthcare committee until 2025.
