U.S. Congressman Abraham Hamadeh Visits Armenia to Discuss Bilateral Ties and Regional Peace

On August 18, U.S. Representative Abraham Hamadeh held meetings with top officials in Armenia. The core of these discussions centered on the advancement of U.S.-Armenian relations and broader regional security dynamics in the South Caucasus.

Meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan

Welcoming the American lawmaker, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan highlighted the dynamic nature of U.S.-Armenia relations and the importance of their consistent development. The head of government expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation will continue to expand in the following sectors:

• political,
• economic,
• technological.

In response, Congressman Abraham Hamadeh expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and emphasized the importance of fostering dialogue, particularly through parliamentary channels.

Discussions at the National Assembly

The U.S. official also met with Ruben Rubinyan at the National Assembly, Armenia's parliament. According to the parliament's press service, the two sides exchanged views on deepening inter-parliamentary cooperation and other areas of mutual interest. Significant attention was also given to resolving ongoing humanitarian issues and the necessary steps required to address them.

Peacebuilding and Regional Transport Projects

Throughout the meetings, the ongoing peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan was a key topic. Congressman Hamadeh specifically noted Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's personal role and consistency in these diplomatic efforts.

Both sides underscored the critical need for unblocking all transport and transit routes in the South Caucasus. The interlocutors also discussed the implementation progress of the TRIPP project. According to the parliamentary press service, this initiative is known as the:
